Merry Christmas. Song of the day 12/25/2013 - Ramones - Danny SaysIt aint Christmas if their is no snow some the great lyrics for this Christmas Song. Watching Get Smart on TV = more great lyrics . The Ramones formed a whole genre and don't get the recognition they deserve. This is one of my favorite Ramones songs. Enjoy!

Say what you want about Phil Specter. Like it or not "Danny Says" is Phil Specter's work at it's best. He takes the raw talent and energy of bands such as The Ramones and engineers the sound, adds high production gloss and polish to the song itself. The end result is a much more "radio friendly" sound, which at the time is what The Ramones were attempting to obtain. Thankfully it did not work out that way...Can you just imagine an alternate reality where The Ramones became a late 70's early 80's pop music sensation. Embraced by the mainstream and getting an appearance on American Bandstand? The Ramones would probably have ended up as a one hit wonder and the fans would have ended up missing out on 20 years of great music and punk rock may have never happened.
