I have taken 'Rambling On My Mind', slowed it down a bit and lowered the key to approximate a slower tape.

Recently, an old music tutor of mine - Paul Scott contacted me to say: "The Robert Johnson recordings were not done originally to tape. They ... Read Morewere electrical recordings, done directly to matrices. Tape recording only began being used after the Second World War - it was a German invention."

This means that the songs we hear are the originals, or that they were speeded up when they were transferred to tape later on.

His records were not slowed down. That is a myth. There is absolutely no evidence for it and the myth itself doesn't even make sense. I can't believe so many people have fallen for that.

I clicked on this vid to get a little Robert Johnson before work and I got about 30secs in before I wondered... why does his guitar playing sound sloppy. Never heard it sloppy before. Then I see that this is slowed down.

How crazy, seems to be the really first Rock'n'Roll Tune . Just listen to the chords, exactly a medium Boogie Woogie!Amazing.

Slowing this down is just a silly shame. The man's the master. Leave him be.
