I remember I sang this in high school, and this music is so nostalgic. It makes me miss high school so much. I'm also playing this music because this is the last time that I will work for Walgreens. Man, I'm gonna miss working for them. 5 years, and today's my last day. :(

So evocative of the school choir days ( too long ago ) We did some recording but not of this wonderful piece and not quite to this standard ! A joy to relax to !

People say there is a RACE problem. People say this RACE problem will be solved when the third world pours into EVERY and ONLY into white countries.People say the only solution to the RACE problem is if EVERY and ONLY white countries “assimilate,” i.e., intermarry, with all those non-whitesBut if I tell the truth about the ongoing program of genocide against White people, Anti-Whites agree that I am a naziwhowantstokillsixmillion jews.Anti-racist is a code word for anti-white

I love this version! I myself am from Dorset (I may seem a little biased) hence why I love this poem and Vaughan Williams setting of this poem to music :-).

Within the woodlands, flow’ry gladed,By the oak trees’ mossy moot,The shining grass blades, timber-shaded,Now do quiver underfoot; And birds do whistle overhead,And water’s bubbling in its bed,And there, for me, the apple treeDo lean down low in Linden Lea. When leaves, that lately were a-springingNow do fade within the copse,And painted birds do hush their singingUp upon the timber tops; And brown-leaved fruit’s a-turning red,In cloudless sunshine overhead,With fruit for me, the apple treeDo lean down low in Linden Lea. Let other folk make money fasterIn the air of dark-roomed towns,I don’t dread a peevish master;Though no man do heed my frowns,I be free to go abroad,Or take again my homeward roadTo where, for me, the apple treeDo lean down low in Linden Lea.

Thank you for posting this fantastic version - the words of this poem and the beautiful music to which it was set inspired me as a youngster at Westminster Choir College - to pursue freedom afar and at home. I hope my daughter, Linden Lea, will come to love this song as much as I do.

The choir I belong to is tackling this at the moment I am happy to say. It is gorgeous and always beings tears to my eyes. It reflects the best of our beautiful country as so much of RVW's music did and who cares whether its folk or choral or anything originally. Just enjoy!!

Can you not just enjoy the beautiful sound he made and let Vaughan Williams alone. You are just a bunch of pedantic peasants!
