I love this song. To me its about aging. The chorus 'Don't leave' suggests its about loosing your youth. There is a youthful desire for profundity in discovering what true love is but he still doesn't know. 'True love waits'. Yet 'True love is haunted attics, and lollipops and crisps'. Its a contradiction. If waiting equates to aging and the lillipops and attics are youth, what is true love really? We're torn. Do we cling on to youth carpe diem or embrace aging amor fati?
