8,8,7,8,8,8. 47 rain drops. I wonder how many notice that random shortened bar. It has the effect of giving acceleration to the whole end of the song.

*FYI, the information I state may be a tad tl;dr, but I do believe it's worthwhile*. Regarding the people wondering about the meaning of "Hail To The Thief" as well as "Sit Down Stand Up", one could argue that Radiohead's "Hail To The Thief" is an album which focuses on common conflicts within modern society. Furthermore, "Hail To The Thief" was produced during the Bush Administration, perhaps motivating the title of the album. "Sit Down Stand Up" is arguably about the government and the dictatorship and tyranny has over it's citizens. "Sit Down Stand Up" is perhaps a euphemism for the control the government held/holds on it's taxpayers. One can presume such because the basis of "Sit Down Stand Up" is trying to convey to the listener that he or she is basically being told to sit down and stand up whenever the authority of a nation commands he or she to. Simply put, Radiohead is stating that governments, (particularly the US-govt,) believes that they over total control through propaganda, manipulation, and informational filtering, quite observable by on through the cover image of "Hail To The Thief". Lastly, Radiohead is implying that the goverment will also issue propaganda through the appeal of fear. For example, "We can wipe you out anytime", is self-explatonary as meaning that normal people, with no major influences (international decisions, war, peace) as opposed to people with power (government-ranking individuals) can be wiped out at any time.

I figure once Thom Yorke dies Radiohead will be held on the same pedestal as The Beatles and Nirvana.
