Here's a third song from the 1986 demo tape. Recorded at Abingdon School. Baby Radiohead minus Jonny. Hear the '80's......Psychedelic Furs, The Waterboys, U2 and The Smiths influence but take note of the very Radiohead ending! Thom's voice as a 17 year old....And Phil's drumming!

Now I know where Brandon Flowers ripped off his vocal style for the Killers' last few albums. Just kidding, but can you kind of hear it? I totally can.

There is. I remember hearing, before Jonny joined them, they had a girl or two playing saxophone. At first I thought it was just girls they fancied.... But the saxophone here and on Lemming's Trail is very relevant and good. I guess they just got rid of them because Saxophone is too specific a sound to fit into all different kinds of songs and styles they'd later write.

I think people back then would have been impressed. By today's standards it's still pretty good if a little "weird and dated" but in 1986 for a bunch of teenagers... Sounds fucking great. Most teenagers I knew (when I was one) were in rehearsal studios drinking beer and cider and singing awful covers of Oasis. I've always felt that Thom and Radiohead always knew they were going to be big.

This one sounds better than most of the songs from Pablo Honey and The Bends.
