It's both death metal AND grindcore. The former was in its embryonic stage at the time of the recording (1986) and the latter was a term coined later on by Napalm Death. The complete lack of melody and the heavy use of chromatics are common in both genres, but both elements are used here to such an extent as to suggest grindcore pre-Napalm.
