Just recently saw Rachel at the Zappa Plays Zappa show in Las Vegas and, WOW, I was blown away! Very few sighted musicians can faithfully handle Frank's music, but she certainly did. Very impressive! I'm sure Frank would be happy.

Wow. A wonderfully talented young lady. It's the pure joy that comes from her throughout all clips that astounds me. Many people have the technical ability to play instruments. It's when the music played on those instruments comes from the soul, from a place of joy, that makes the music so wonderful, so touching. And the clip playing with Dweezil Zappa was absolutely amazing. Inca Roads is a beautiful piece of music by Frank Zappa. But a technical piece too. Rachel absolutely knocks one out of the park on that piece. Great stuff coming from this awesome young woman! Warms my heart to hear her play.

She sings too. I knew she'd have a good voice just from hearing her laugh. But singing and playing as she does is a task, I'm sure. And here voice is so fresh and clear.. please keep it up!

I can not fathom that I'm the first to think of this or the first to try, but I've spent the better part of the last 16 hours listening to Rachael perform. I'll say this and hope I don't offend you or your family, Jeanie when I say that when I listen to ELP's Tarkus and then listen to Rachael's interpretation on the piano..........See, I don't read music, despite having been 'round the world 3 times doing it for money on keys, guitar, what have you. Can't read a lick of it. It's an eye/brain thing. The stuff looks like ants on a fence to me. I see it and hear nothing. So if I want to learn someone else's music (which is 99% of what I play) I have to listen to it. Not as many times now as when I was Rachael's age, but I know how many times I listened to Sultans of Swing to get those two guitar solos down note for note. I also know that what Rachael did to Tarkus on that piano is the result of the original recording getting into Rachel on such a deep a level and then coming out that way...... because I know that there is a God capable of putting that ability to feel that deeply into one wee lass and then giving her the strength to physically do the work and craft the piece anew every time she plays it.Anyway, and I'm absolutely nobody in the grand scheme of things, but I'm a decent writer of things.I posted on Ellen DeGeneres Show's facebook page ELP's original recording and Rachael's interpretation from 2011 (I would love to hear what has become of that piece now, nearly five years later!) and will now drop the share link to this video in the comment section of that thread and pray God someone over there hears what is happening here.Nearly a century ago, there was a man, Itzack something or other...... George Gershwin said that this guy could actually play Raphsody in Blue better than he himself who wrote it whether it be solo piano or fronting a philharmonic. Didn't matter, the man FELT the music with another level of passion that was beyond Gershwin's reach; The last thing on Earth I would want is 100 years from now for someone to say, "you know, 100 years ago... there was this girl..... I can't recall her name, but..."This kind of gift is the kind of gift that inspires the already inspired, and it needs to be shared with as many people as is possible. If I had money to invest, I'd bet it all on this film and subsequent albums.I will also be playing Tarkus for a record producer friend of mine who happens to have 3 Grammy Awards to his credit (I think it's 3, or maybe 2 Grammy's and an Oscar, I'm not sure which) because I just love dropping neutron bombs on him just to see the look on his face.
