The Zahir

Not this one. A lot of his solo stuff is steeped in religion and moral maxims and platitudes. He gets really preachy at times. There's a good line on The Rubber Duckie Experiment about seeing Jesus in Borders tearing price tags off of bibles... Here's some good graf lyrics, "The Manhattan Project": watch?v=OZi548saT1M

The Zahir

There's an immediate follow-up, "My Soul to Take," where he has the same dream again, meets god and talks to him, and wakes up just before god tells him "the answer to the infinite riddle." I've been meaning to upload a good quality version of it if I can find my music. In the meantime there's this one: watch?v=isugmzoSN8I

The Zahir

Like many of Qwel's solo songs it's a soapbox for him to spout about his take on humanity's failures through the lens of his unique personal religious notions. Here he does it through allegory of a vision of the apocalypse, and himself dying and going to heaven, but it's actually just a dream and he wakes up right at the end of the song just before meeting god. Fantastic lyricist; strange, sometimes belligerent religiosity...

@AddingMusicWeekly you referring to the battle type of lyrics he used to run with on the come up? Cause I certainly haven't heard much in the way of boasting for like past 8 albums...which is like the past 10 years
