I use to listen to this for hours on end on a continuous loop all during the 70's when I was in HS (70 to 73). I still do, too. This is a masterpiece to me. I would listen while studying, working in our yard, riding my bike, working out in all the athletic activities I participated in - traveling to gigs regularly with bands that played all the local bars & clubs. I still brings me to tears of joy for the beauty it conveys. It is a song that just gives me energy and hope. A spiritual hymn to my spirit. God Bless and Rest in Peace Nicky Hopkins - My Brother in Music.

Unfortunately there are no transcriptions (sheet music) anywhere for this. Probably because it's a relatively long piece and also there is some third hand overdubbing going on in several parts. So it's not strictly a piano solo. Beautiful though.

Cannot get enough of this. Nicky Hopkins with perhaps the most beautiful piano solo. ..It makes my spine tingle everytime I here this..This was recorded @ Hyde St Studios in San Francisco(Formerly Wally Heider's.) I visited this recording studio in 2012 when I visited San Francisco...I have to pix of the Pianos that Nicky used, with QMS, who recorded their entire Discography there .I'll will be uploading them soon

+Robin Patrick Hi, I was also in Hawaii for a week "in the summer of 1969" (Not quite college though, if you know what I mean. R&R) I love the music of that era, especially '68 to '72. This tune is really good and I am happy to have found it on the Tube. I still listen to vintage vinyl from time to time, most recently some early James Taylor. Take care and enjoy the music. Nothing better.

This comment is one of best comments I've read on YT so far. I love Spindrifter so much, but never been able to put in words what I really feel. You did it great. Cheers
