It's just reverb. On most reverb processors you will have a 'mix' pan pot or slider that goes from 'dry' to 'wet'. When in the dry position the effect is inaudible, and in the wet position all you hear is the effect itself and none of the original signal. To fade this track out the producer gradually shifted the mix position from dry to wet.

It's just a mixing technique as far as I know... sounds like someone slowly turned all the faders down
