Damn, I love both versions. This one is much more haunting, but I love the energy of the Desert Sessions version. QOTSA is the only band I know of that can put out multiple versions of the same song, each one as awesome as the next XD

Okay, so everyone knows by now that this predates the Desert Sessions version. Good.

This song should've been on the self-titled as a bonus or something, it's so good

+Carlo Von Sexron Goddamnit, I'll pay you if you give me lessons about QotSA. I mean it.But wtf, you did say you're drummer, so why do you know so much about the guitar stuff about Josh? And lastly, are you Joshua Homme in disguise? Cause everyone thinks you are.

Yeah, well I live these kind of comments all over hoping that maybe someday they'll see it and let me haul their amps or set up Jon's drums or whatnot. Haha. I swear I know more about them than some of their techs.

Mark was supposed to be on the record as well, but was committed to something else at the time. I personally loved when he sang Walkin' On the Sidewalks with them live, though. Another singer Josh worked with during that time as a possible member was Pete Stahl from Scream, he toured a little bit with them in '99.

Huh, learn something new every day. For what it's worth, Homme's a pretty decent singer, as is Lanegan. As for Nick Oliveri, it varies. Bloody just sounds weird yet hilarious, but in 'Millionaire' it works.

Josh didn't want to sing, but at the same time he didn't want the group going in uncertain of themselves, so he said "Fuck it, I'll sing, and play bass, and play guitar." Firing, by the way may be a little harsh of a word, after all, Mike Johnson did play the "couch" part on Hand Model.

Damn, why were they fired? They steal your weed and liquor or something?

Carlo Von Sexron

And the only reason they weren't on the first record was because Josh fired them 2 days before they were supposed to go into the studio.

This was part of a demo tape that the band made before the band was signed- John McBain and Mike Johnson from Dinosaur Jr. played second guitar and bass respectfully, with Alfredo on drums. This song was written by John and titled "Sherbert". The same recording as this one on is labeled as such. Later on it showed up as Rickshaw on D.S. VI. Other songs from this demo were The Bronze, How to Handle A Rope, Mexicola, and the forgotten "Oppenheimers' Brother" It's on YouTube.

Apparently this version is the early pre Queens version, the band called plastic turks. There is a version on desert sessions 5 if I remember rightly

Rickshaw very quickly became one of my favorite songs of all time when DSVI came out. I've seen Queens play it live but had no idea they recorded a studio cover - where is this from?
