What's most impactful about this song is that Freddie wrote and recorded this after discovering he had AIDS and that he was likely going to die with a few years.He wrote this as defiance. He wrote it to tell the world that even when he was gone, his legacy would continue, and that while he was still alive, he'd fight right to the end.This will always be my favourite Queen song. Knowing what Freddie was going through when he wrote and recorded this, this song can only be described as defiance in the most beautiful of ways.

There is a Five Nights at Freddy's fan song titled " The Show Must Go On", obviously many many years after this song here came out. Considering that they share a title, and that Queen's lead singer was, of course, the late, great Freddy Mercury and FNaF is about an animatronic band with their own Freddy as lead singer, is it a coincidental reference, or just intentional?
