Made by Fabio Tosti. Live in Newcastle, 4 December 1979. Freddie hits many of high notes in this concert. Maybe the best Mercurys vocal performance ever. He sings even the famous C5 (like album recording) in Boehmian Rhapsody. A collection of very rare live performance mixed by Fabio Tosti. Videos & Music by my collection (bootlegs).

Lol. I have the same question! I was trying to figure out how Newcastle is everywhere! So what size venue is that? I don't get it either.

This is so great! I love Queen! Especially the older recordings! New or old they are amazing, legendary and never forgotten!

I don't know where you get the idea that those "FIGHTING" instances are the proper high notes... They're the same as he always did live.

Freddie's voice is in top form here . Too bad a full live pro recording wasn't made of this show . Such a shame when moments like this are lost .

Very much the case :D Hardly exhibited as he didn't have a huge amount of faith in that darker tonality of his voice, as he -probably rightly- thought that the fans would rather hear his brassy tenor and the belting around the mid 4th to 5th octave. He was pressed about the baritone idea by Monserrat Caballe on the phone once, his reply was 'No, no, my fans only know me as a rock singer and they will not recognise my voice if I sing in baritone.' I'm Going Slightly Mad begs to differ I think!

And the most awesome part is that he is a baritone that can sing in tenor!!!!! :D

I was born in Belgium and never got to see him in Brussels I could kill myself !!! And I was old enough to attend.... damn i'm mad at myself. Freddie was the best. His songs make me cry , laugh and everything else in between. Thank you for this video :-)

I've a theory about why Freddie is on top of his game here. The high pitch of the Geordie accent must be a contagion lol
