I know there's a lot debate on the lyrics here- "Nobody gives a damn" - and I gotta say, this song has kept me from considering suicide more than anything else. Nobody gives a damn whether you live or die, so why not just go on living doing whatever the fuck you want? And besides, nobody gives a damn, so just make them give a damn. Yeah, bad reasoning, but it's helped me out a lot.

As much as I love the fact that Queen wrote an upbeat song about the pointlessness of suicide, "nobody gives a damn" is really the last thing you should say to someone who's giving suicide a thought. Not sure why Freddie thought it was a good idea to include this kind of lyrics.

Am I really the only one who thought this song was sending massively mixed signals?Seemed less to be saying "don't kill yourself, because life is better", and more "don't kill yourself, because no one will miss you if you do". That and it seems to be of the opinion that the recipient of this message is only attempting suicide to get attention.I'm just not feeling comfortable showing this to anyone who might benefit from an anti-suicide message.
