Quasi - Sam Coomes, Janet Weiss and Joanna Bolme - have been rocking the sticky floored graffiti scrawled dimly lit trenches since 1993. What's been learned in these long years? Get off your ass, kick out the jams, lay it on the line, and communal mind meld is within reach. Do it for love and there is no reason for regrets.

Portland duo-turned-trio Quasi have now announced details of their forthcoming eighth album, American Gong. Mixed by Steve Fisk, Tucker Martine and Dave Fridmann, the follow-up to 2006's When the Going Gets Dark is set for release on 22nd February 2010 through Domino in the UK & Europe, and Kill Rock Stars in the US.Domino Recording Company is an independent record label founded in 1993. If you were from New Orleans you would understand this title, apparently if you are actually from France you have no imagination with your language? he is speaking Cajun French but he is using a popular American expression. "Let the good times roll." It's just like any language used in multiple places in that regard. If I were to go to Barbados (Bajans)/Trinidad/Jamaica I would have a hard time understanding their dialect, even though I am a native English speaker and so (supposedly) are they.

... he is attempting to speak French, so what ever point you're trying to make is irrelevant.

It also doesn't mean anything in German, Spaish, Portugese, Chinese, Swahili, Farsi, Japanese, or any of the many other languages that he is similarly not trying to speak.

I'm Cajun French but due to Katrina I live in Alabama. I explain it to the Alabamians as this: speaking Cajun French to a Parisian French speaker is like sending Snoop Dogg over to communicate with the Queen of England.

@Furiouze The language of the Acadians (Cajuns) has changed in somewhat isolation for a couple of hundred years, as has Modern French on a separate course. I speak hardly any french, but wouldn't it directly translate, "Allow (or free) the good times (to) roll)"? Anyway, awesome tune.
