I still love Dave a ton but I MUCH prefer his set up this way where the ride cymbal is in a nice up and comfortable position. I really hate all the new drummers that wanna play a lame 4 piece and pull that ride in so damn close. Dave's playing was also much more fun before Freddie Gruber.

Yeah, these are the Yamaha 8000 "tour series" - (also a pro line from Yamaha back then) which are birch and mahogany sandwich. They have a "fatter" more full and warm sound... I also like these drums' sound :-)

Yes this song is Quartet no 2, Part 2. He starts out by playing the solo section and then plays the actual theme.

There seems to be some confusion regarding the title of this track. AFAIK, the correct title is "Quartet no. 2, part 2", and it does appear on the Three Quartets album. ;)

The name of this piece isn't clear. It definitely is not quartet #1, and not quartet #2 either. Sax is required on those pieces. I think the studio recording may appear on an Akoustic band album, but they're hard to find.

Wow. Three greats at the top of their game. It doesn't get much better than this. Weck's kit sounds sort of dry and muffled - much better than the kit he uses now, in my humble opinion. Thanks for posting!
