Quote from their myspace and homepage:

"Originally put together as an instrumental rock trio in 1995 by drummer Federico de Costa, guitarist Filip Norman and bassplayer Patrik Persson , music was spontaneously jammed out with a common thread of explosive psychedelic rock.

During the golden age of the MTV endorsed lumberjack look, the Swedish music scene had little to offer a instrumental act, and Robin Kvist soon joined in and vocalised in the mother tounge.

The unique stylings of QOPH started to come together and the band toured excessively on the Swedish live music scene during the following years.

The bands debut effort, Kalejdoskopiska Aktiviteter (Record Heaven, 1998), sold a few thousand copies internationally, even though only a handful of the listeners understood Swedish.

QOPH's second album "Pyrola", on the other hand, delivers a less subliminal message in English. It was released in Sweden, Germany and Japan in 2004 & 2005.

At the moment QOPH are recording new songs for their 3rd, yet untitled, album."

"Pyrola the brand new recording from Swedish psycho-naut institution Qoph delivers a new and rockier sound than ever before. Producer Per Wikström (Nicolai Dunger, Backdraft, David Fiuczynskis KIF etc.) has put focus on capturing the energy and power of the band, which has rendered Qoph a wellknown reputation as a sensational live act over the years. With an inventive twist of old and new, Qoph combines daring excursions of such todays acts as Trans Am and Mars Volta, whilst always keeping lookout in the rearview mirror.

The opener, Woodrose, a spacey menuet in 5/4+6/4 time sets the mood. A playful vocal line dances lightly ontop of a diabolic landscape of haunting toms and swaying guitarlines. Korea, or more accurately North Korea, where guitarist Filip Norman deliberately vacationed to catch a glimpse of the last standing Stalinist dictatorship in the world, takes the listener on a rambshackle journey across the land of morning calm. Stand My Ground on the other hand, breaks out the meat and potatoe of Rock n Roll as if it would have been served by The Allman Brothers Band or Santana. Qoph"

Not my song, of course, just thought the world needed to here this awesome band and one of their songs from their first album!
