I don't think Amorphis did the same. They changed their sound in 3 albums but never dropped the concept and vibe of their original music. Besides, nowadays they have returned to a heavy-doom-death sound combined with what they did in those albums. Check e'm out. Paradise Lost and Anathema, on the other hand, did the same as most doom metal bands.
