Pylon WERE hugely popular with College and Alternative Radio in 1979-1982, but they were Artists. So when they ran through their creative ideas, they decided that they had said what needed to be said, and split. This was years before anyone figured out how to monetize College Radio, so there was no career ladder to climb. We played Beep, Crazy and M-Train on our college radio station and the songs were very popular, but there was so much great music then, they were just another band among many.

I'm completely baffled. I've listened to R.E.M. for 35 yrs, but only today have I found the group that did the original Dead Letter Office song "Crazy", and I don't get why Pylon didn't become hugely successful. I personally love this... where has it been my whole life?!?
