As big of a Maynard/Tool/Puscifer/APC fan as you're going to find, and I do like this cover, but he bit off more than he could chew trying to vocally cover Freddy Mercury. That's probably literally the only guy who has a better voice than Maynard IMO, and I'm not even a very big Queen fan. Mercury's voice was Godlike though.

Maynard has commented on the fact that he can't sing like he use to, hitting those screams and long notes are hard for him now. He said he sat the bar high and now it's hard to hurdle.

Wow, how has it taken me this long to hear this? For maynard, and for this being such a vocal song, I'd say it could have been done better. But as a song and video it's definitely entertaining.

It just showcases Maynard's arrogance.The truth is he made it because he thought he could pull it off but you can hear he can't reach the notes in the song and needs to sing in lower octaves so he masks it in the absurd so it seems like he wasn't taking the endeavor seriously.Sorry Maynard, but in spite of what your zombie fans have convinced you of, you have not been the creative driving force behind your projects and it's perhaps why you lost relevance so quickly.
