Recorded at the Haunt in Ithaca, NY 3/12/10

I aolpogize that we don't see more of the other 1/2 of P. Hill. Once the song started I locked it down on Pat. I do have some other video that I'll post if I ever get a chance. This cigar box guitar was real interesting if you got a chance to see it up close. Pat can really make some music with this thing. It only has one bass string and two (I think) guitar strings.

This was shot with the Canon 7D EOS DSLR. I am sorry that the audio is only from the cam mic. This is from my "home movies" file and I was just testing the camera.

From T3 to Purgatory, your music and lyrics have ALWAYS struck a chord with me. You are an American Icon to me. You seem to have a tap on an inner consciousness of the American psyche, able to express it clearly and musically. Thanks much for the music and the words. Don't ever stop. The Lowbowe IS your instrument.

thanks you guys :) but i have to correct the number of strings - it's one bass string (tuned to E) and THREE high strings (E-B-E) xoxo

I read a bit about this in a cool book about Cigar Box Guitars by a great local Photographer ( David Sutton- based in Skokie, IL) and, in fact, there are 3 treble strings, and one bass string- he sends the bass string to a separate amp /Subwoofer- and puts the others thru a guitar amp. As a nice feller above points out, this axe was built by a Mr. Lowebow. He may have gotten some inspiration from a primitive African lute called an N'Goni- which has the same kind of neck. AWEsome sound.

After the show Pat let a few of us check out this thing he has been playing. I think it had one bass string and 2 high strings. The neck was (I'm not kidding) 2 broom sticks. The volume/treble knobs were beer bottle caps. Very cool.
