This song came from an album/CD made from a Radio simulcast of a concert played in a club in Denver Colorado in 1974. CD name is Songs of Pure Harmony. Craig Fuller had left the band before this was recorded. Larry Goshorn is lead vocalist. I believe it was remastered and re-released later. It's pretty raw, but John David Call's Pedal Steel alone makes it worth listening to.

Wow! I've never heard this... Who's playing Banjo? One poster below implies this not PPL. Well they do a great imitation!! I'd say from the harmonies blend this is them Very impressed that such emeralds can be found still!!

Ha-ha! :) I'm not ACTUALLY Eric Kaz, sorry about that! I'm just a huge fan who adores his songwriting, and the Craig Fuller - Eric Kaz album. I have most of Eric's albums posted besides "1000 Years of Sorrow" and American Flyer's "Spirit Of A Woman". If you've never heard the Craig Fuller - Eric Kaz album you probably need to hear it ASAP, it's simply amazing. Especially tracks like "Feel That Way Again", "Cry Like A Rainstorm", "Annabella", and "Restless Sea"! Thanks for your time :)

An honor to hear someone chime in who not only knows what was happening but was there to participate. I wish I would have known more about Craig Fuller's career esp after PPL, but the point I was making was in response to someone asking if Vince Gill played the solo on the original Amie. I was explaining that Vince came years after Amie was recorded and that Craig Fuller was long gone by then. BTW, I listened to the American Flyer stuff and I so love that era for country rock. Great Job!

Close, but not exactly. Craig Fuller (Write of Amie) departed from Pure Prairie League in 1975 in order to work with Eric Kaz, and a few other musicians in the band "American Flyer", they released their first album in 1976. I think in 1974 Craig Fuller would still be in PPL, but it's possible he's not. It's hard to say if this is authentic due to that, also due to the fact at how high the quality is. An audience recording wouldn't sound like this.

Vince didn't join the band until 1979. Amie was written and sung by a guy named Craig Fuller who, to my understanding, left the band before the album was released. So, nobody who ever saw PPL perform Amie as a hit song ever heard the original singer do it. Vince's big hit with PPL was during their Pop Radio days called "(Let Me) Love You Tonight".

Lol wow. Are they drunk or what? That guitar was clearly not in tune when he tested it, then he continued playing anyway. Jesus, everything about this is bad.
