I just broke out laughing in the middle of a very boring meeting. I thank you. For you: Slang is a 'very informal usage in vocabulary and idiom that is characteristically more metaphorical, playful, elliptical, vivid, and ephemeral than ordinary language, as Hit the road.' Which is basically what I said but in a less long winded way.

@f2thes I realise this argument is two years old but felt I had to say that slang is different wording for a subject, object ect.. metaphorical would be another way of putting it. That's fine, and everyone uses it from time to time. The following is not slang: 'yr innit! luv dis blud propa tuune! ne1 who says anyfink else is a pure kunt ya get me' What this is, is a complete lack of education and a complete and utter arse raping of the English language. fuck you for not knowing the difference.
