This album is full of various artists. It took a LONG time to put the whole thing together. You can't judge when the song came out based on the album release. Quasimoto made songs throughout the 90's. The Unseen didn't come out until 2000. This is the ORIGINAL.

This is Kevin "Kayo" Roberson doing his thang on that bass at the age of 17, with his boys L.A. Reid on the drums, Steve "Tuck" Tucker on the guitar/vocals and Larry Middleton on lead vocals! Kayo was getting pizzaid in high school, long before The Deele and the LaFace era! I LOVE THIS SONG!!!

"A sampled version can't be better than an original 'cause it can't exist without it." Just kidding, I also love the RJD2 version ...

"Pure Essence (Funk Band) is an American 70s R&B band from Cincinnati, Ohio..." This album originally came out in 1976. You should really get your facts straight before trying to be disparaging. Maybe you need to understand how beats sometimes come from using samples?
