he song was written by Steve Dorff but Paul Kirby is on lead vocal and Tramp is on fiddle. These two are the only members of the Cactus Brothers on this track. The song was never released commercially and is only featured in the film. I'm glad you liked it. It was an awesome experience! So, I am doing internet sessions now if you need some fiddle on something! Let me know, Tramp (I'm on Facebook)

The song was written by Steve Dorff and is sung by Paul Kirby of the Cactus Brothers. The guys from the band Boy Howdy are singing backup vocals. That's me playing fiddle. I went by the name Tramp back then. They flew Paul and me to Hollywood to overdub lead vocals and fiddle at Warner Brothers. On the plane we sat next to Gallagher. That song was never released because the soundtrack album was the George Strait material only. We didn't put it on our record either but we did put the other vocal song "Crazy Heart" on it. The third song (instrumental), also written by Steve was called "The Cactus Line Dance" and I'm the only Cactus Brother playing on it (fiddle). The other players were studio musicians there Hollywood.

I figured out the chords; they are G C and D. Great country song, I can't believe it didn't get much play on the radio. Thanks for the upload!

"If I've been good for something, it's been good for nothing." That's the perfect opening for a perfect song.
