That brings back memories. I played with the IIx from 1982 till 1986, then we (the studio) went on with the Fairlight III.

Makes me wonder...were either of them previously musically educated before they got the Fairlights? Like how much of it is them understanding the notes/time signatures/keys/tempo, and how much was just late nights screwing around with it.
