Anthem at the offertory:

I was glad (Choir Man & Boys)

I was glad when they said unto me, we will go into the house of the Lord.

Our feet shall stand in thy gates, O Jerusalem. Jerusalem is builded as a city that is at unity in itself. O pray for the peace of Jerusalem, they shall prosper that love thee. Peace be within thy walls, and plenteousness within thy palaces.

Psalm 122:1-3, 6

Paid...ha,..Surely you jest? This is an Episcopal congregation, they are a volunteer choir, like most churches.

This is not a balance comment. From a technical perspective, the vibrato rate of the men of this choir indicate serious breathing problems (such as, they don't know how to breathe properly and they are not breathing). It is interesting that whoever chose these paid singers did/does not know how to recognize, diagnose, and fix this. As as result their vocal sound is atrocious and ruined this rendering of one of the finest anthems of the Anglican repertoire.

oh - that organ into!! Fabulous. What lungs (and of mastery using those organ resources intelligently). A wondrous work.

I think the organ and boys section of the choir sound GREAT!!!! The Men section, however, sound like there overdoing it. I do know that this song has portions that has vibrato, but NOT the whole song through! It becomes very distracting to listen to, and harder to listen to the WORDS... which is the main goal of singing, to send out the message. At 1:23 it's like being releaving after hear too much voice from the men, and off balances the boys.

@pertencoacristo Oh agreed, and there could have always been an issue with the placement of the microphones.

Great Anthem, but some of the gents (a tenor particularly) are overwhelming the boys...
