This music breaks all the rules of proper voice leading and harmonic progressions -but Prokofiev gets away with it because he is intimately familiar with "the rules" and therefore knows how to break them properly.

A lot of composers were very influential on John Williams... My conductor jokingly said that Gustav Holst wrote the music for Starwars before Williams did.. Which is not entirely incorrect imo :-)
