Ugh, I had this oboe excerpt in my audition packet for All-State band in high school! I had already made State, but we were auditioning for chair/band placement. This was the excerpt I was LEAST prepared on... & not only did they ask to hear it, but I had to play it 1st in my round :-/ Needless to say, it didn't go so well, lol... there was no such thing as being able to just look it up on YouTube then! But I'm a professional flutist now & have played it in ballet. We're playing it again next month, but this little excerpt reminds me of why I need to over-prepare. At least I don't have to play this tricky solo ;-)
