A great example of edgy '80s rock and one of the more poetic lyrics from that era, "Neon" (from the Prodigal LP "Electric Eye") would make it onto a list of my top 15 Jesus Rock songs. For one thing, it totally transcends the dreck-ish ccm pop vibe; for another, the message is one that burns with both artistry and conviction. Favorite line? "Waiting for a jolt from God... or whoever comes first." Great unknown band.
