Relatively rare performance of Robin Trower's "About To Die", from "Home".

Procol Harum performed it quite a lot in the "Home" tour, in 1970, I don't think they ever played it again after Trower leaving the band.

Note the absence of organ. On the album version (and, reportedly, occasionally live as well) that instrument was played by Keith Reid, Procol Harum's lyricist.

dudes...that guitar makes the song...it gives it the driving feeling that a keyboard can't do

@papajohnloki it's not just about the solos: while memorial drive would probably sound quite odd without guitar About to die is quite fine with a distorted organ instead (it's the only number I use distortion at all!)…Unfortunately we had to change bass player, we're almost ready to gig again, but I doubt we will be able to play around for at least a month…I hope to be able to get gigs afterwards. We're not rehearsing this right now, probably will in the future.

Yeah-both these Trower pieces had keyboard solos(Memorial.About to die) and this song is more interesting lyrically. Any chance of your...?

@papajohnloki You mean Brooker should bring this back to the stage? It is not really a guitar piece indeed, we've rehearsed it from time to time and works well even without guitar…

Sorry about not replying- the Memorial reference is that with Whiskey Train it is a Trower melody. Whiskey, though, is a guitar piece as this and Memorial are not.

@papajohnloki Your not boring at all, on the contrary! I don't catch the memorial drive reference, tough…Well, the song's structure is similar, but this was actually written one year earlier.

Weird- I mean Brooker resurrected Memorial drive. Again(if I am boring I apologize) thanks.
