British progressive rock legends Procol Harum are captured here at their finest, in concert at London's Union Chapel. It was the last night of a tour that had taken them from London through Europe, Japan and North America and back again to London.

Here they play a fabulous version of the awesome Keith Reid/Gary Brooker song 'A Salty Dog' which, along with 'A Whiter Shade of Pale', is their defining work.

The resulting DVD is available from Eagle Entertainment

Lyrics

All hands on deck, we've run a float,

I heard the Captain cry.

Explore the ship, replace the cook,

Let no one leave alive.

Across the straits, around the horn,

How far can sailors fly?

A twisted path, our tortured course,

And no one left alive.

We sailed for parts unknown to man,

Where ships come home to die.

No lofty peak, nor fortress bold,

Could match our captain's eye.

Upon the seventh seasick day,

We made our port of call.

A sand so white, and sea so blue,

No mortal place at all.

We fired the guns, and burned the mast,

And rowed from ship to shore.

The captain cried, we sailors wept,

Our tears were tears of joy!

Now many moons and many Junes,

Have passed since we made land.

A Salty Dog, the seaman's log,

Your witness, my own hand.

Fabulous song that just stick in your mind. Just for a laugh: The whistle on 0:39 after 'All hence on deck'' is a little out of tune, it sounds funny like a singing teakettle

Goodness graciousness! - Matthew Fisher on his Hammond C-3 and the voice of Gary Brooker... just about like old times.

This is one of the finest 'rock' compositions of all time. It could easily be considered electric classical music. Brooker has one of the best voices in rock history. A beautiful song.

This always remind me of my late uncle Anna efroymaovich who died heroically at sea during the Great War. He loved to relax with pro ol harm or what's earth is group is called. We know now what he knewed many yrs ago. There is nothi g better than a heady sea song to lift yr spirits.
