Prince Markie Dee went on to a solo career after parting ways with the 80s Hip-Hop group, The Fat Boys. He formed the singing group/production company, The Soul Convention in the early 90s, which tried to mix vintage soul with hip-hop production, novelty raps, and some quasi-romantic material. He released a two albums, Free in 1992, the first album released under the name: Prince Markie Dee and The Soul Convention, which spawned the singles, 'Typical Reasons (Swing My Way)' and 'Trippin Out', and a second album, Love Daddy in 1995, which was released under his rapper name only.Also during the 1990s, Prince Markie Dee co-produced tracks for such artists as Mary J Blige, Father MC, F.S. Effect, Mariah Carey, Shabba Ranks, 3T, Lisa Stansfield, and Craig Mack. He is currently a radio host for WMIB 103.5 FM 'The Beat' in Miami, Florida.
