Primus - Hello Skinny (Residents Cover) video free download

This track has been floating around for years. It's pretty much the only cover that Primus regularly performs live (besides the YYZ intro).

The video is from the Tales From the Punchbowl CD-ROM (1995), which no longer works on any modern computer. I took the individual animation sprites from the source files and re-constructed it in Flash. Kind of painstaking, but fun.

It's also worth noting that the images that appear inside the eyeball are from the Residents' original video for Hello Skinny, circa 1978 - one of the earliest music videos - which now resides full-time in the N.Y. Museum of Modern Art.

Primus made this and Constantinople tolerable.

Cool. Thanks for just this and no Constantinople, that song is kind of annoying.

No, there isn't. I doubt Waits is one of the Residents. His voice would be pretty recognizable. One of the Residents has a similar gravelly yell but it's not quite the same as Waits' voice.

As a huge fan of Primus, Frank Zappa, Captain Beefheart, Yes, ELP, Van der Graaf Generator, and all kinds of other crazy bands. I have to say The Residents are too weird for me.

Is there any actual proof of this?

And since Adam just posted a *Primus* song, why don't I follow it up with Primus doing a song by the weirdest band in the known universe, *The Residents*

There's actually an album full of Residents covers by various artists, called "Eyesore: A Stab at the Residents". I haven't heard it though, and I've never heard of most of the artists on the album.

Awesome! Thanks for the video friend. I had a dream recently and it had this song in it. The dream was about me learning how Alfred Hitchcock made his films. He didn't have many resources for sets, and so the cast and crew met and filmed in old trainhouses, train yards, and warehouses. The song started playing when I was totally alone at dusk, staring at the empty train cars in disrepair.
