Breathtaking lysergia from the Pretty Things' cult 1968 album S.F. Sorrow - one of the first concept albums/rock operas in history. In this song, the album's protagonist Sebastian F. Sorrow comes upon ˝a long winding staircase which brings him to two opaque mirrors that show him the horrible truths and revelations from his life˝ (or so Wiki says). Featuring artworks by Alex Grey.

***Lyrics***

As evening shadows chase the sun

The night is here, my day is done.

Through dark forests of my mind

A light is shone - it's you I find.

I see you.

On a dark and windswept street

The faces I see of the people I meet.

With their eyes they build a shrine

That takes me back to the forests of my mind

I see you.

Silent shadows creep on walls.

Catch the wind it's yours to catch

She's going away.

As I look into the sea,

The waves they break and part for me.

As my mind slips into sand

The water returns with the warmth of your hand.

I see you.

So awesome to hear the source of so much to hear music to follow. Amazing guitar playing!! I am so happy you find an artist like this to show to the world. I think they are generally unknown to this era, right?

"Taking the steps, the steps to see." It's part of a concept album, so this involves the character taking a trip, courtesy of Baron Saturday (earlier song), where he takes a look at a reflection of himself. Also, it's psychedelic rock. So yeah, it's got experimental aspects in it, naturally. I love it personally. From the album "S.F. Sorrow".
