Dude - Billie Joe Armstrong was 9 years old when this track was released so you can say that he was 'inspired' (in the same way Garbage's "Special" was inspired by the Pretenders 'Talk of the Town') when he wrote 'Loss of Control' or he outright plagiarized the riff from 'Pack It Up'. I love the cleverly cutting lyrics of this period of the group. Hynde's words were a wonderful oasis for me amidst the REO Speedwagon and Styx songs of that time. The Pretenders were like a secret pleasure for me.
