No Donnie wasn't one of the original three. On the other hand, Blair Douglas (on stage with him for the evening, playing accordion) was one of the founders of Runrig.

I am not sure when or why he left....but he was the best....the original three..right? now many more in band.... I miss him his voice is great!

Iv had Runrig ( When Donnie was in the band dont think iv heard the new band) plus a few other tunes like John Farnham, chemical Bros, Prodigy on one cd that I have been playing in my car for about 2 and a half years now, Alba, You take the high road and a cupla of other tunes have always got my blood going and gets me in the spirt for going to work ect always best played loud and proud L.

Bless Donnie. What a voice! And one of my very favourite songs. My great ambition is to be in the UK and be able to see him in live performance. Am really glad Runrig has gone on and remains a fabulous band, but Donnie's voice made it a great one imo
