bohdan hluszko was a man at the time, and was only in the band for 1 year of the band's 35 years--1996-7--well after the band had made it's name, won all its junos, etc. he was a casual employee, hired to play drums on a month-to-month basis for that single year. on the other hand, joan besen, the keyboardist, who has always been a woman, has been in the band the whole time, and wrote 14 of the bands top hits!
