A good song but some scholars would say the title is a bit unfortunate, as Lucifer is know as the angle of the morning or son of the Dawn!

Her voice is full of power and is beautiful. Perfect arrangement...Like the piano figures and the sound.

The best version.

Great as all her performances are. My favourite versions is still the original by Evie Sands, the unluckiest singer of the sixties. It came out on Cameo parkway which then went bust the next week.

Thanks for posting this, I had this on an album around 1970, Kafunka? Kafunta? Great voice and I bet she was on the single I'm Blue by the Ikettes which I also loved. Thanks again.

I remember hearing the Merilee Rush version as a kid. This is another great version.. I find it unusual. She starts off slow with not much intonation but then at the end she goes all out with gospel inspired shouts.
