Artist: Power Quest

Song: The Longest Night

Album: Magic Never Dies [2005]

------

The longest night - Shattered by the morning light

Breaking through the darkness with the power of hope inside me

We've come so far again

No chance to turn away

We've come too far to falter now or be afraid.

Way beyond endurance is the place that we are thrown

Hungry and weak

We are tired and alone.

We must go on - Don't listen to the devil's song

We must go on - To build the Promised Land again.

The longest night - Shattered by the morning light

Breaking through the darkness with the power of hope inside me

The farthest land - Conquered by the heart of man

Tearing through the darkness with the power of hope to guide me.

Desolate and barren is the place that we now dwell

Torn apart and dying now

The final living hell.

[He may wait for us to fall

But we won't bow in fear to his demands and calls.]

[We may run to distant shores

But we will not kow-low to his desires or petty laws.]

The longest night - Shattered by the morning light

Breaking through the darkness with the power of hope inside me

The longest night - Shattered by the morning light

Breaking through the darkness with the power of hope inside me

The farthest land - Conquered by the heart of man

Tearing through the darkness with the power of hope to guide me.

[Power of hope inside me]

[Power of hope to guide me]

wow i cant believe its been 4 years since I posted that comment. I had a serious rap hate thing going on back then. I don't care so much now. I was like 13 or 14 when I listened to this, I kinda find it silly now, still pretty catchy but I'm more into Pink Floyd these days.

Not all rap is bad its just that you dont like it. Im not really a fan of it but i can appreciate it. But i agree there is a lot of bad rap especially the main stream crap out today but all is not bad.

Not in modern rap at least. People really overlook older artists with some great poetry.

the part from 25 to38 is the best part of the song

I think all those "Cheap" (50 cent) Fans... Will break with the sound of nothing and rock on some insane POWER METAL!

I love Power Quest more than every other band because of the meanings behind everything they create. There's an obvious meaning you get the first time you hear it, then there's another one much deeper, and then there's one which spans a whole album which takes hundreds of listens to put together.

Well, that pretty much proves I was right then. They were so unsuccessful that they had to disband. I tried to find a torrent of their discography and there wasn't even one in existence. That's how unpopular they were.

No shit they never will rise anywhere. Not because of any of what you just said, but because they disbanded, though. Power Quest's discography is a final package ;-)

Maybe I just haven't listened to their songs enough times for them to sink in. I have listened to a lot of them here on YT though and they never did seem as good as DF songs to me. Do you really think their vocalist is as good as ZP Theart? I find the vocals to be only average. And where are the blistering guitar solos? They don't have a shredder on staff. Without outstanding vocals and blazing guitar solos they have nice melodies and that's all really.
