I start getting major feels at 1:26 ... ;^;Why Wheatley...why? I thought we were friends...I remember the first time playing this. I was like "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!" And crying. I love Wheatley. He was sooo cute! ^^But still...the feels hit me hard at that part cause I can remember everything from that part. ;;^;;

This is my favorite part of the entire game. It makes you go "yay! I beat the gaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWHEATLEY NO." It shows exactly when the malevolent shit in GLaDOS's wiring corrupts Wheatley (literally and figuratively) though how he's acting and how the music changes. Love that.

The sad thing is, I really can't blame Wheatley for his going mad with power. And not just because at least part of it was the mainframe's influence.So GLaDOS says the engineers tried "everything" to make her behave. I would imagine this means lots of different cores, each designed for a specific purpose, to affect her decisions and behavior in different ways. You got the Morality Core telling her what is and isn't acceptable behavior, the Curiosity Core continuously asking questions, etc.And then you have Wheatley. Poor, tiny little Wheatley the Intelligence Dampening Sphere.These constructs *are* sentient. They have feelings, we know this. Well, we do already know Aperture is stupidly cruel enough to install empathy chips (with empathy suppressors) and the ability to feel simulated pain in their sentry turrets. They probably did that with their personality cores, too. Here's where I'm going with this: the *entire point* of Wheatley's existence is *to be stupid.* That is his lot in life, that is what he's meant to do. No one expects anything else of him because that's all he's supposed to do.Now imagine how it must feel to know that *literally your only purpose* is just to be an *idiot.* Who wouldn't jump at the chance to be something else?
