Tears to my eyes. Wanted to be there. Should have been there, just like every other Skills party. Damm that job that made me work on NYE til 1151 pm; causing me to be alone for about the last 40 mins or so of NYE. I justified the night with words like commitment & devotion. I loved what i did & i couldnt help but be there for my boss. About an hour before Skills released this video, my boss demanded the keys to his restaurant back & fired me because I am having a severe gout attack in both of my feet & couldnt come to work, even tho I had just seen the doctor yesterday @ 530 pm, right before going into work @ 6 pm. I limped around in pain all night, but i still loved what i did. My doctor didn't even clear me to return to work yet. His note said that i will most likely be able to work on monday, but might be even longer than that. I gave my heart for 8.5+ years to working from & learning from this man. Then, I got to watch this video & saw what i was supposed to have seen on NYE @ midnight. The only thing that i actually saw at that time was exactly how many thousands of dollars i helped him make that night. Saddest part is, is that i wish i could do it all for him again tonight. I think i just got a TRUE glimpse into exactly how people are made to feel, when they aren't what society wants & expects of them whenever that same society has to look at, come in contact with, or interact with people that they have absolutely no comprehension nor understanding about that individual, their physical &/or mental state, the amount of effort that they have to put forth just to do the same exact things that the majority of this very society have taken for granted that very day, like smile, encourage others & simply just try to do the basic human functions that are almost never even thought about as a convenience, such as walking or using a restroom.This is why i have always loved raves & they hold a very deep & special place in my heart. It is very rare that while at a true rave that has PLUR extruding from every pore of every being that you will find people that will help to make you feel as beautiful & as special as you truly are.I have loved Skills ever since the very first party i attended in which that their crew participated in (it wasn't an actual Skills party, but most of their crew back then did dj that night, including the first time i got to hear jason spin live, & they also helped to setup & breakdown the room in which they did dj) because they exude a genuine caring of their fellow man.I have loved Skills for countless of their parties, decisions, feelings, etc. over the years.I continue to love Skills for providing moments such as the one in this video that spread a peace among mankind, a love for mankind, a unity amongst mankind & a respect for not just any, but all mankind.Thank you Skills crew,Northern California, the Bay Area, electronic music & my life for certain, would not have been the same if you guys hadn't been doing what it is that you do so damm good over the last 17+ years (for me anyways)
