What happened to our music? Where did our culture go? What about our children? When I was a child this was what I had to look up to. These where the 'cool' guys. Rappers where TEACHERS with a message, be it ISLAM or otherwise. You were able to turn on the television and see these types of videos daily. Minus the materialism the music not only sounded good but had a message and a meaning! The poets had TALENT and used that to deliver the message. It seems rather elementary to me that if the youth have never been exposed to this type of expression they will not even think to rebuke the nonsense of today as the trash that it is. They call it a golden age but I just call it music. This garbage that exist presently is just that however if youve only smelled shit all your life how would you know that it stinks? The real travesty is the adults that are from the same time and age as myself dont even stand up and call things as they are they just continue to cosign the rape of our music and culture as 'just the way it is' because they themselves dont know the real meaning and purpose of musics spiritual power!
