Can we discuss the symbolism emanating from this piece? First I want to point out how obvious the 666 reference was. Mean anything to you? What about the transition from everyday activities (yeah, even flying on magic carpets) to rituals, murder, and cannibalism (a la 3:40)? And how about those abrupt cuts (1:55, 4:45)? By the way, what did you think about the being from outer space providing a substance in a cup to the "earth" puppets and then abducting them? I thought the background vocals of "it took you all this time to know" were haunting. They kind of maintained that vibe in my honest opinion.

OK. Yes. Listened to more. I hear Butthole Surfers, Nina Hagen (you heard me), and...Tame Impala (of course). Oh and most of all- The Flaming Lips. I'm going to ask the Band to marry me (the virtual me).

This is my new favorite video/song. I'll have to listen to more before I can say the B-Word....but it's looking promising- I may be in love with this B.

It's like a modern day version of Pink Floyd's Echoes, funky bit in the middle, hanging organ chords... fantastic!

This is pure genius. Even though I'm digging the tracks Tame Impala put out so far this year, I would be surprised if anything on Currents is better than this. Hopefully Kevin can prove me wrong, but this track does absolute wonders on the ears.

Reminds me of Paranoid Android from OK Computer, good stuff! Of course it has the schoolhouse rock kind of drawings and 70s feel but it also compares to the 90s, the flaming lips, Ariel Pink.
