I seriously doubt that, having seen thier live I would say that hes singing, he made a mistake in the lyrics and said something mid song when he was playing it at Oita TOPS last year.

When I saw them live it didnt apear to have any electronical attatchments but it wouldnt surprise me if they were using a wireless connection.

The vocoded vocals in this case are pre-recorded. Before you freak out, just think. 4 person band - lots of guitar and keys in this song. Some major riffs would have to be taken out to make room to vocode the lyrics live. So the vocoding is part of a backing track (which most live Poly songs use, in really layered synth songs). The mask is so Hiro doesn't have to literally lip-sync. He can just rock out without it looking strange or off-beat.

I wonder if thats really it, cause the vocals sound identical to the studio take, and that kinda looks like a gas mask...though knowing polysics, its probably some amazing magical voice changing thing from hell. star video either way
