I know this is a little late (you posted 4 years ago, but, hey, that's the beaauty of YouTube). I just found out Ruth was married to Dennis Edwards (from The Temptations [2nd line-up, after Dennis Ruffin left). I found some videos on here of their son performing as well. Nothing like the original lineup of The Pointer Sisters though.

Yep, that's the name. Check their debut album (circa 1972?) It's still wonderful. A perfect use of all of their talents (and vocal ranges).

It's a medley of old songs (Swanee River,I Dream of Jeanie w/the light brown hair;), plus probably some original bits. Great arrangement though. They did sing Bie Mir Bist du Shoen on a guest appearance, but that was originally recorded by The Andrews Sisters (you can find lyrics for it) and That's a plenty is the title cut from their 2nd album (another regional oldie).

I loved them in this early period...went to e j korvette for their promotional appearance of first lp which they signed june left her lipstick imprint as it was my birthday. wish I had seen them perform.
