I think hardly ANYONE sees the beauty and special synergy that these sisters had onstage, and how special their group was. Specially in today's world of entertainment where there's some groups made up of random strangers that may look or sound good together, The Pointer Sisters stand head and shoulders above all the filth of many of today's pseudo artists who are COMPLETELY made in a studio, and do little more onstage than pantomime sexual acts, LONG LIVE THE POINTER SISTERS!!!

Sarah Ophelia Colley graduated from Ward-Belmont College, at the time Nashville's most prestigious school for young ladies. She taught dance a number of years, before getting into the acting business. She bought a large estate next door to the Tennessee Governor's mansion and lived there about 30 years. She probably had access to the governor more than anyone outside his immediate family. Sarah Ophelia Cannon , may have played a goofy Minnie Pearl on TV, but she was a shrewd businesswoman. Several cancer research centers, and hospitals have her name usually as The Sarah Cannon Cancer Center or Sarah Cannon Research Center. There is also a Minnie Pearl Cancer Foundation. H-o-o-w-w-w-d-d-e-e-e !. She was a nice lady in private life, and made an act from her growing up in a little town , Centerville, Tennessee. In reality she was a very refined Southern Lady. I wish she was still around . The price tag on that hat was $ 1.98. That's what the flowers cost. She was given a National Medal of the Arts.

As a "Supremeaholic" I must say...them fighting words! (just kidding) But seriously, I think is unfair to compare them, since the biggest difference between The Supremes and The Pointers is BLOOD. I'm sure Ruth and Anita weren't bursting with jealousy whenever June showboated (being their baby sister) But Flo and Mary would grind their teeth whenever Diana showboated (as they were FRIENDS) Also, all 3 Pointer Sisters sang lead, while The Supremes sound was based heavily on Diana's voice.
