This song is so beautiful and it is a reminder of the sadness evoked by the very emotional accasion when Grace Gifford married Joseph Mary Plunkett and he was then executed after their marriage vows, I stood in the chapel at Kilmainham and it was very moving indeed. I also placed a flower on the Plunkett grave at Glasnevin.

So beautiful and so very sad and the thought of this young couple who married and then JMP was shot, and what was worse was that he was so ill, but even then all he thought about was Grace and her welfare, and the other love of his life - Ireland, and he gave all his mind and character to both.So heartbreaking, I placed a flower on the Plunkett grave at Glasnevin in 2009, out of respect. Brilliantly sung Podgie !

JM Plunkett was a poet of great sensitivity and very talented

So beautiful, I stood in the chapel in Kilmainham gaol in Dublin in 2009, and it was so moving. Grace Gifford married JMPlunkett just in time, before he ws shot in cold blood, guarded all round by guards, in case he got away- fat chance, with him in the throes and suffering of TB.
