It's medley. Would you upload the rest with higher resolution? Farm aid uploaded the whole, but in mono. I'm a big Poco fan.

No one could sing " take it to the limit " like Randy. Joe Walsh called it right... Randy wasn't " alpha ", but all said and done, he was a big part of the Eagle's success.

There was one thing Joe Walsh was right about. Randy didn't know how great he really was. I always favored Timothy B. Schmit as an Eagle above the rest cuz I am a bassist, even though Henley has one of the nicest voices I've ever heard in classic rock. Then in my older age, the end of my 20s, I have started exploring more into the Randy Meisner years and yes, I think he was extremely underrated and as I listen to him more as a singer and a bass player, I felt he had the chops to be even greater than Frey or Henley. He was just so talented and had such hidden charisma that would've taken him to the top if he had the drive to do so. He's slowly becoming my favorite Eagle ever.

Yeah he has dropped it down all the way to G. Probably just to make it simple so the guys in Poco could play it on the fly

Randy came out with some very good albums, especially "One More Song". I think he was more successful than Glen Frey. You are correct about him being underrated. Incredible voice.

He's singing it in a much lower key here.

according to glen, randy also didn't like singing the song because it embarrassed him to try hitting the high notes at the end of the song. you can actually see how he feels unconformable singing it in some of the youtube videos. matter of fact its almost awkward to watch. the felder book was fascinating to read i most admit.

Talk about irony....Timothy B. auditioned for Poco and so did Meisner. They chose Meisner. Then he left for the Eagles. Timothy B. took Meisner's place with Poco. Then when Meisner left the Eagles, Timothy B was there to take his place again.

Randy was Poco's bass player before the Eagles. Ironic how it worked out. According to Felder, in his Book, Randy didn't have the drive or confidence to be a big star on his own. He (Felder) said there were nights when they couldn't get Randy to close the show with Take It To The Limit for fear of having to face the audience for that long. You see what happens with a self confidence problem and then compare that to Frey and Henley and their total Me, Me, Me, egos.

Randy would have been a perfect fit as member of Poco after he left the Eagles in September 1977. His vocal style fit better for what Poco was singing in 1978 and 1979 than what the Eagles were doing with the Long Run in 1979. It is unfortunate that he didn't enjoy the same solo success as Don Henley and Glenn Frey did. I personally think Randy Meisner was a very underrated member of the Eagles with his vocals compared to the other original members Don Henley and Glenn Frey.

He and Timothy B have to be the kings of the rock ballet.
